Education:

B.Sc in Petroleum Engineering or related engineering discipline plus relevant drilling industry courses.

 

Languages Required:

Must have excellent command of the English language and report writing.

 

Minimum Requirement:

Strong analytical and communication skills required together with excellent computer literacy.

 

Job Scope:

To provide Drilling Engineering expertise and high quality technical input into Drilling projects, planning and optimization studies and provide technical support to Onshore and Offshore Drilling Operations. To evaluate proven technology and new technology related to Drilling applications and makes suitable recommendations in their use. To proactively provide feedback from lessons learnt during NPT Analysis, reviews and studies. To perform detailed mechanical design of wells to meet DQMS standards. To evaluate and recommend enhancements to rig equipment, techniques, procedures in well drilling, completing, testing and workover operations with a view to improve safety, cost effectiveness and efficiency. Utilize Landmark software to assist with well planning and implementation. Optimizes the use of the Drilling Information Management System. Provide drilling techniques and well concept input into Field Development studies. Ensure that the Drilling Quality Management System Manuals are updated, revised and maintained. Ensure that well planning and implementation comply with DQMS procedures.

 

Experience:

• Minimum 10 years experience in Drilling related operations. Preferably 2-3 years wellsite experience and 5-6 years in operations engineering.
• Experience in drilling engineering research and studies are preferred
