• MAXIMO knowledge will be an advantage.

Job Scope:

The Maintenance Equipment Specialist will be responsible to consult and advise Maintenance Area Leads and Mechanic Technicians concerning mechanical repairs, Preventative Maintenance and the operation of mechanical equipment.  Will be responsible for ordering the spare parts needed for existing and new mechanical equipment. Interface with vendors to procure the necessary equipment data need for procuring spare parts. Interface with vendors to schedule onsite technical assistance. The Maintenance Equipment Specialist will insure  safety and environmental policies are followed.

The Maintenance Equipment Specialist responsibilities include but not limited to:  

• Review design limits of equipment and insure that we are operating within the correct manufacturer design conditions.
• Thorough “hands-on” knowledge in a wide range of mechanical equipment, prime movers and ancillaries.
• Coordinate the repair, inspections and testing of mechanical equipment.
• Assist mechanical personnel with trouble shooting activities.
• Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis activities.
• Prepare Preventative and Predictive maintenance plans.
• Review and analyze the data from vibration monitoring and oil sample testing. Use this data to predict failures, increased risk of failure and to develop plans for extending the run life of mechanical equipment.
• Supervise major overhauls, rebuilds, and major projects for the Maintenance group.
• Assist the Facilities and Commissioning groups with equipment reviews and troubleshooting activities as needed.
• Mentor Mechanical Technicians and Area Process Leads by offering instruction, transfer of experience and training.
• Review and evaluate the vendor supplied spare parts list and prepare Preliminary Material request forms for the needed spare parts.
• Review and evaluate spare parts stocking levels for all operational mechanical equipment to ensure all necessary spare parts are stocked in the warehouse at the appropriate minimum and maximum levels. 
• Interface with vendors with scheduling onsite technical assistance and off site equipment repair.
• Participate in on and off site equipment inspections and acceptance tests.
• Promote safe procedures, working habits and enforce the  policies regarding HES.
• The ability to maintainrecords, draft technical reports and record data. 

 

Experience:

A minimum of 10 years of mechanical maintenance experience including 5 years of supervisory experience .
