Sr Facilities/Mechanical Engineer

Education:

Degree in Engineering, Preferably in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.

 

Languages Required:

English written and oral.

 

Minimum Requirement:

  • Exhibit a broad range of surface facility expertise including mechanical equipment and process experience.
  • Shall have strong knowledge base of industry codes such as ASME, Tema, API, Nace, Piping codes: B31.1, B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, and their applications.
  • Shall be experienced in cost benefit analysis and applications for project justification.
  • Shall be skilled in development of presentations for management audiences. 
  • Demonstrated experience in engineering solutions problems related to thermally enhanced heavy fields
  • Demonstrated capability in coaching, training, mentoring, and employee development.
  • Good in communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Job Scope:

The Facilities/Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for managing field related small to medium sized construction projects from start to finish. The engineer will foster and maintain a high standard for engineering practices and quality application of document control practices. Also, will ensure compliance with company Engineering specifications and guidelines,  Health, Environment, and Safety (HES) requirements, and relevant Industry standards, codes and recommended practices.

The Facilities/Mechanical Engineer will ensure effective project development, project management and surveillance activities. Provide technical support and guidance to operations and maintenance teams related to equipments and processes for water treating, steam and power generation, and oil dehydration. Set the strategic direction of the project team, identifying priorities, developing schedules and managing resources. The engineer will alsofoster an atmosphere of technical and professional development for group members.   In addition, the engineer will be a mentor and guide for the subordinate engineers.

The Facilities/MechanicalEngineer responsibilities includes but not limited to:

  • Build and maintain a highly skilled and action oriented team.  Mentor Engineer 1’s providing development opportunities and career path planning.
  • Accountable for project management, including scope definition, cost estimation, scheduling, drawing and design review, material procurement, material tracking, project tracking, construction coordination, construction supervision, PSSR A/B and cost accounting.
  • Ensures the team provides engineering technical support, design review and operational information related to mechanical, static equipments and piping systems to customers.
  • Engineering support for management of change (MOC)including custodian of Facility Technical Information (FTI).
  • Engineering support for Root Cause Failure analysis from mechanical point of view.
  • Focal point for design and select rotation equipments for new projects.
  • Ability to develop and review piping and structure designs using the basic calculations and engineering software tools.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years experience in upstream oil & gas assets (preferably in thermally enhanced heavy oil fields, including water treating)
  • Experience with Steam thermal expansion piping stress design and stress control practices (Using CAESAR II is an advantage).
  • Experience with gas fired heaters, boilers and various heat exchanger applications and sizing.
  • Ability to manage large scale, full field and complex Brownfield projects through a fast paced development schedule.
  • Experience with pump specification, design and applicable industry codes including API.
