Risk Management Consultant

Education:

M.Eng or M.Sc degree in Petroleum Engineering  M.Eng or M.Sc degree in Petroleum Engineering.

Ph.D diploma is an asset. 

 

Languages Required:

English written and oral.

French language skills is an asset.

 

Minimum Requirement:

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Technical knowledge of the oil & gas subsurface (geology, reservoir management, D&C) acquired through education and experience, knowledge of Heavy oil thermal recovery techniques is an asset
  • Knowledge of Mining processes is an asset
  • Customer service oriented
  • Proven business development skills
  • Proven project supervision skills
  • Excellent writing skills, necessary to the production of reports and deliverables
  • Above-average presentation and interpersonal skills are a must, as you will frequently interact with clients and represent the company before high-level decision makers
  • Must be able to understand and assess diverse client contexts to engineer practical and shared solutions
  • Enthusiastic and self starter, you are not afraid of new challenges outside your comfort zone
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);

 

 

Job Scope:

In an environment that fosters autonomy and initiative, the successful candidate will grow the activity of the company in the Canadian Oil & Gas sector through your decisive contribution to:

  • The delivery of risk management and risk-based optimization assignments, involving frequent interactions with the client;
  • The conduct of risk management workshops and training sessions;
  • The company’s business development activity, focused on key oil & gas corporate accounts;
  • The company’s marketing effort, including the participation in conferences and targeted industry events where you will represent the company.

The successful candidate will report to the office manager, and will progressively increase his/her autonomy and responsibility level as their risk management expertise and consulting skills develop.

Although the position is based in Calgary, it involves active collaboration with the client’s other North American and European offices and short-term travel.

The successful candidate’s integration includes a period of active training in their head office in Europe.

 

Experience:

Risk management knowledge and practice (3-5 years) acquired through education and/or work experience.
