Posted: January 2013 Type: Permanent Job Order: 7457

Location:

Kuwait

Languages Required:

English written and oral.

Minimum Requirement:

  • Strong technical reservoir engineering skills covering classical reservoir engineering and simulation in a variety of depletion mechanisms.
  • Deliver reservoir engineering assessments for development and recovery options, including analogue analysis, recovery prediction, well spacing impacts, and production forecasting for unconventional gas and light tight oil onshore plays.
  • Expertise in well tight gas, shale gas. Expertise in the design, completion and testing of gas wells in unconventional gas projects is required.
  • Experience with resources estimation methodology for unconventional gas resources is desirable.
  • Current capability with reservoir engineering interpretation and modeling software is required. Eclipse, OFM, Saphir, VOLTS and Petrel expertise is desirable.

Job Scope:

Provide reservoir engineering, reservoir management and simulation support for evaluation and optimization of major unconventional development projects. Emphasis will be placed on unconventional expertise with a secondary focus on conventional reservoir requirements. Extensive experience in wide range of reservoir types, conditions, fluids and depletion mechanisms in oil, gas and condensate production modeling or simulation, multi-phase fluid flow and EOR project knowledge is essential.

  • Reservoir simulation experience with experience in compositional simulation and shale gas reservoir behavior.
  • Strong analytical reservoir engineering skills will be required, together with demonstrated competence in reservoir simulation.
  • Demonstrated ability to construct dynamic reservoir models and generate numerical simulation, including history matching and production forecasting along with both MBO and compositional modeling.
  • Unconventional and Tight Gas Reservoir and Residual Oil zones Evaluation.
  • Unconventional Reservoirs will form the large majority of project opportunities within this position. Consequently, the successful candidate will be exposed to a broad range of subsurface environments, ranging from light tight oil to shale gas, coal bed methane opportunities.
  • Provide consistent, detailed and integrated petroleum engineering interpretations for unconventional gas resources.
  • Provide well design, completion and testing programmes for unconventional gas resources projects.
  • Carry out studies and provide petroleum engineering input into unconventional gas assets evaluation, well proposals, reservoir development studies and field development plans

Experience:

Minimum 15 years’ experience in reservoir engineering discipline.
